For decades I have helped people with life transitions, chronic illness issues, trauma healing, and a host of other issues. Helpful as psychotherapy and medications are, they often weren’t enough.
Meanwhile I was having my own journey with serious illness (click here for story). I immersed myself in non-conventional but highly effective approaches like the ones I talk about below. As my body and brain unexpectedly began to heal, I started teaching these skills to my clients and was excited to see them improve.
I am committed to extending these opportunities to you, while including your family members / friends and health care providers if you’d like. I would be delighted to connect with you and see what we could co-create to support your healing and well-being.

Full Life Optimal Wellness (FLOW) is a 6-month life-changing personalized health coaching program for people with multiple sclerosis or similar conditions. You will work one-on-one with me to learn advanced strategies for mastering challenges like spasticity, weakness, and pain. By the end of the program you will have a solid plan for advancing your own healing and will have the skills to adapt it as your situation changes. You are welcome to include your family, friends, and providers.
Receiving full benefit from this program requires your willingness to invest effort in practicing the menu of healing techniques we generate together.
I only want to work with you if what I offer is a good match for what you need and if you can commit to the work. Click here to set up a half-hour consultation call so we can explore what you need.
Kathy is an amazing healer and teacher who practices with incredible insight, compassion, patience, flexibility and joy. She knows more healing modalities than any practitioner I know. I have experienced her skills in a number of settings including Qi Gong, Sound and Healing, and Healing circles. Kathy also has a sharp wit which enlivens her teachings and presentation.
— Karen Schneider, MSW, Seattle WA
I would highly recommend Kathy and Qigong. Kathy is a very patient, kind and knowledgeable teacher. She did not give up on me no matter how long it took for me to understand and master a move. I have been battling Parkinson’s for years and interested in alternative treatments but have been hesitant to try due to my limitations. I am so thankful for Kathy as she made it possible for me. Qigong has made me feel better and has helped with my movement and balance.

Sound Therapies
For at least 40,000 years drums and other instruments and the human voice have been used to treat most ailments and painful mood and spiritual states. Since our bodies are more than 60% water and sound travels 4 times faster through water than through air, sound vibrations have a quick and profound effect on our physiology. Recently modern medicine has rediscovered the use of sound for healing but has mostly limited it to technical devices like ultrasound machines. I can teach you to use your own sound / voice to find your way back to joy and energy. You can experience:
- Calm.
- Improved focus.
- More joyful mood.
- Decreased pain, or pain may even leave.
- Support for bodily healing.
- Feeling loved and at home as you feel more spiritually connected.
Come with a particular spiritual belief system or with none. This work will enhance any approach you take as long as it involves compassion.
I also may use singing bowls and other instruments and my own voice. The work is carefully tailored to each person’s issues and hopes.

our mood, energy, and self healing. She introduces beautiful, melodic tones with her voice and her harp. Her voice is an incredible instrument that she uses to teach and share her wonderful sense of humor, and she instills hope with her great wisdom.
The timbre of Kathy Wilmering’s voice and the scope of harmonics she awakens in her musical instruments are memorable and deeply healing even after one has left her presence.

wealth of knowledge regarding the use of sound as used for healing, both
for oneself and for others. She has embodied many techniques and
teaches them in a way one can easily understand. She is able to
demonstrate many forms of healing clearly as well as support students in
learning the skills. I especially like Kathy’s sense of humor and how easily she shares her own journey.

Qi Gong
Pronounced chee-gong, this form of healing work is at least 5000 years old. It includes movement, visualizations, sound, and meditations that can be tailored very specifically to different health and mental health challenges. It can also deepen spiritual practice. Very surprising health improvements have occurred when people take this up as a practice. I have been honored to study with Master Liu Her and Dr. Liu Dong from China for two decades and have been designated a Master Teacher. Sign up for my free mini-ebook to find out more.

Therapeutic Touch
Therapeutic Touch engages with the healing energies of the body and brings order to them. This very gentle practice is easily learned at a basic level and can be done hands-on the body or hands-off. Research demonstrates quick and sometimes dramatic decreases in anxiety and pain, as well as accelerating the healing process. Practitioner and healee may experience both increased intuition and a deeper experience of their particular spiritual connection. This is a great modality for family members to learn so they can support their loved one with chronic illness.

Other Energy Therapies
You really do have healing at your fingertips. Every culture has discovered practices that use hand and other body positions to move practitioners towards more radiant physical, mental, and spiritual health. Gut issues? There are multiple mudras (hand position) for that, in addition to other body positions. Anxiety? Same. Spiritual pain? Of course. I custom-tailor a program for your particular challenge. Plus there are so many other approaches. I studied with Donna Eden for many years and teach her easy incredlbly effective techniques for just about any ailment. Then there’s Tapas Acupressure Technique that also deals with ancestral trauma, and AIT, and the list goes on in this rapidly-expanding area.

Consultation for Healthcare Providers
As providers, we want the best for our patients / clients, but sometimes we get stuck. I am trained in most major systems of psychotherapy, am very knowledgeable about health issues and medications, and, most importantly, you will leave our session more confident in your skills and with a plan for your client. I am also an EMDRIA-Approved Consultant and a Diplomate in Comprehensive Energy Psychology, so I am an ideal consultant if you are working towards certification in either modality.
I’ve known Kathy Wilmering many years and we have frequently consulted on clinical cases (both directions). She is intellectually brilliant and thoroughly trained in many treatment modalities. She is creative and focused and always comes to her work from the deepest compassion and wise ethics.
— Michelle Salois, LCSW RN
I received consultation for my private practice with Kathy for a number of years. She was extremely helpful to me; always professional and clear with boundaries, and very up to date, with many suggestions for further reading or support. Kathy’s expertise always helped me to feel reassured in my work whether I was coping with a crisis or exploring lack of progress on a particular case.

Psychotherapy
Our work together can free you from the impact of trauma, both big ones and small ones, and transform unhealthy behavior patterns. Given the mind-body connection, health problems often improve when we work together. Calling on my training in most forms of psychotherapy (trauma-focused, family of origin work, ego state, EMDR, and Energy Psychology, to name a few), we collaborate on an approach specifically tailored to fit what you need.
Thank-you for the work you did with me. My life is very happy now.

Medication Management
I am skilled in using conventional psychiatric medications and also bringing in natural medicines when appropriate and requested.
Kathy is very knowledgeable about medications. I can say this after consulting with her for years on these issues and hearing her presentations to the doctoral classes in Psychopharmacology. The beneficial effects of her knowledge are more than tripled because she is so receptive, open minded and compassionate.
— Alex Suarez PhD, Licensed Clinical Psychologist (retired), Seattle WA
Kathy is my go-to provider for knowledgeable and up-to-the-minute medication evaluations and monitoring. She is rigorous about keeping informed about new pharmacological developments, is aware and careful about drug interactions, and is also wonderfully educated about alternatives to medications including supplements, diet, and adjunct therapies. She is also willing to work with complex cases … to get the desired results with her patients. Rating: A+
